Coloured Digi's on cups

Kind of a make from me today.............the kids are on Easter Holidays so I haven't got much time to craft but I did manage to make a start on two more teacher gifts for the kids.

They'll eventually be cups in a box using the arty farty Rosylee template.  I haven't made one of these for years but I think they are a little bit different than a normal thank you teacher card.  I've used images from my favourite digi artist artbymiran :)

The left is for my youngest Daughter's teacher and shows Shaylee, find her here.  The right is for my Son's teacher and shows Lunar Deity, find her here.  They both have a poem on the other side

I've coloured them using Spectrum Noir markers and will add the list along with the finished project

GDT card

This is my GDT card for artbymiran blog challenge #4 - Anything Goes.  I'm very excited as it's my first GDT spot and I adore the images drawn by Mi Ran

I've killed 2 birds with one stone and made a much needed thank you card for my Son to give to his Teachers as he is leaving Primary school this year and moving on to high school (aarrrrrrrgghhhhh)

For this card I've used Pondering Pamela coloured with spectrum noir markers and kept the card quite simple to bring out the image more.  I hadn't coloured her before and I wanted to give her a Vintage feel so I've used dark colours throughout:

I've used Susan's Garden Sunflower as the main flowers on the card.  I thought that the dark brown centre already had a Vintage colour and the washed out yellow colour of the faded petals would become a lovely cream.  I didn't use the 'proper' quilling technique for the flowers, I used an embossing tool and my ironing board of all things to give the flowers their shape lol but I still like the results :)

As some of you know I generally make my own templates for my cards and this was no exception.  I get my basic image size and literally fold a piece of A4 paper into shape until I'm happy with the size and style of the card.  So that's how this card turned into an easel card with a front step

Teacher thank you

Today's card is a thank you card for my eldest Daughter's teacher.  She's a fab teacher who my Daughter adores

I've used the gorgeous Blossom Breeze from artbymiran.  Find her here

I've use plain white card, with Kraft card for the main card.  I've had the kraft card for months and love seeing the effect it gives on other peoples cards so I gave it a go.  I've coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers and used very muted pastel colours on the rest of the card to bring the image out more

Niece

Another birthday card from me today for my Niece who is 14 in June.  I've used an image from artbymiran called Tulipa.  Find her here

The card was made following a tutorial out of the latest Crafter's Inspiration magazine from Rachel Anne Miller.  It's a slider card that conceals a money wallet.  I always give money now my Niece is older :) and wanted to incorporate that into her card.

Foldable box card

Today's make is another foldable box card, this time for my other Daughter's friend who will be 10 on Friday.  My Daughter wanted me to make the same kind of card for her friend in turquoise as it's her friend's fave colour :)

I've used an image from All Dressed UP called Abi Ballerina, find it here and coloured her with my Spectrum Noir markers

I adore these images drawn by Mi Ran, I've had a few recently that seem to fit with a lot of the family/friends cards that I'm making.

The card design is another box that folds flat so that you can slip it in to an envelope if you don't want to make a box :)

I love the way that the flappable (if that's a good word for them) sides literally fall into shape when the box is opened out.

And a little close up of the tiny embellishments.  I used a Crafts-Too die called Butterfly garden on the inside of the box and used the little butterflies on jewellery wire to decorate around the rest of the card.  Such a sweet little die that's becoming one of my favourites :)

This is another Mother's Day card for my Mom from the kids this time.  I used Ceridwen from artbymiran and used a tutorial from Spectrum Noir on sepia colouring to colour this gorgeous image.  I'm sure I've mentioned before that I've only just started to colour using markers so I look at all of the tutorials I can for hints and tips

I'll have to add the list of papers and dies as I go......

I need a decent camera, the colours are washed out no matter what light I take the photos in
