A great addition to the Maybelline family

A quick review from me today for a product I received a couple of weeks ago

I was so pleased to receive the Blushed Nude Palette free from Maybelline.  It's a fabulously compact little number containing twelve gorgeous shades that promise '13 different looks'.

There's a handy little guide on the back for the novice user, which shows the best combinations to use to acheive a quad, trio or duo grouping although you can combine those colours further to acheive your own look.  There's a good range of pale shades for the daytime which can easily be smoked up with the darker shades for a more dramatic effect.

I have olive skin and chose to use (numbering the top line 1-6 and the bottom 7-12) 1 and 2 on the lid, 5 and 11 in the crease and up towrds the brow and then a mix of 8 and 12 over the lash line and into the crease for a smokier look.  To give it a good run for it's money I've also tried the palette on my daaughter who has dark hair, green eyes and very pale skin.  We went for understated and used the third 'duo' combination pictured on the back and had great results.

It's a palette I will definitely use in the future however, I do think that with so many colour combinations there should have been more than one applicator.  Although it is double ended
I feel that the sponge and brush ends would soon be too overloaded with shadow to give a clean result.  Other than that it gets top marks from me

You can find the palette here

Gemma Gumdrop

Hello blog land, I haven't posted for a couple of weeks...........

I've made this card to support the fab Ladies over at the Come and Get It blog challenge.  One of their sponsors this week is Lacy Sunshine (absolutely stunning images) and the theme is 'Things with Wings'.  I've used the gorgeous Gemma Gumdrop, you can find her here.

With a name like that, I thought she needed to be bright and would look perfect with candy pink hair.  I've coloured her with my spectrum noir markers and left the dress and hat quite washy to keep the focus on the hair.

I've made the card shape a sweet (candy) wrapper by sitting and working out measurements and folds (with my trusty pencil, ruler and boxer board) on paper before hand.  I've made it using centura pearl and matted with papers from my stash.  I've added a printed sentiment before I cut 'Gemma' out using an xcut die.  I've used a Tonic die and a few pearls and flowers to finish it off

This time I've used the beautiful Sweet Claire and I've made a 3D present and bag for my Daughters friend.  My Daughter picked the image out with me as she said it looked like her friend :)

I've coloured her with my Spectrum Noirs and attached her to the letter.

It's a paper mache 'J' that I've covered with papers from my stash......

And prettied up with some flowers and gems from my stash and dies from Marrianne, Tattered Lace and Memory Box.  I've used lovely bright summery colours on this set and made a gift bag to match using the same paper, some ribbon and a bow :)

Crafty Sentiments Designs new release

If anyone would like to follow my blog can you please click on the 2 red squares next to the 'join' button and then click follow.  For some reason my button has never worked :(

Today sees the start of a new release from Crafty Sentiments Designs, with a brand new set of stamps available from 23rd August.......

The Fabulous DT Ladies will be posting their creations here over the next two days :)

I was given the adorably cute 'Scruff - Lots of Tulips' and this is what I made.......

I've had a page saved in my favourites for a while (here) and have used the template twice now.  It should be a tealight holder but with those darling tulips on the stamp I thought I would use it to send flower/veg seeds packets......Over here in the UK it's a perfect Autumn bulb for planting that will blossom in the Spring.

I've coloured 'Scruff' with my spectrum noirs with a dotting method (colouring over the edges) for texture and cut him out with an xcut die.

I've used Forget-me-not papers from Dovecraft ........

Kraft card as the base.....

And prettied it up with a few bits and pieces from my stash.  The box on the right will hold the seed packets and the tag pocket on the left holds a tag with a sentiment for the recipient

I'd like to enter the following:

Happy Tuesday folks :)

I have a project to share from Crafty Sentiments Designs today.  The challenge is 'Back to School'.  Head over to the blog to enter your makes and get some inspiration from the very talented DT Ladies.

The prize for the lucky winner is............

When I saw that this was the new challenge the perfect stamp for me was 'Skip Skip' maybe because all three of my children were at primary school when I made it and my Daughters often skip to school holding hands.

With my daughters in mind, I've used the image to make a lunch bag.  Just the thing that everyone needs for a busy day at school.

A little close up.........

And a side view..........

I coloured the image using spectrum noirs, and added my own sentiment.  I cut it out using an xcut circle die and layered it with card and papers from my stash onto the bag.  I've used dies from Marrianne and Tattered Lace amongst the flowers and finished everything off with a few gems

Happy Monday Bloggers :)

Today sees a new challenge from 2 Cute Ink and another set of newly released images from Heidi which are available in the store today.  This time they are an adorable set of Pirate Animals pop over to the challenge blog to see the fabulous makes from the talented DT Ladies

I was assigned Pirate Animals Bear and made this darling little card for my cousins little boy who was 3 years old earlier this month

I've coloured my little Pirate Bear with spectrum noirs and used an xcut die to cut a circle.  I've used Sizzix and xcut dies for the banner, name and age badge.

The papers I've used were from Graphic Express.  View them here in their Etsy store.  I've used the stripy papers inside the card too.

Morning all and a Happy Sunday to you :)

Today is my first time posting a project for Come and Get it Challenges.  I'm very excited to be part of this lovely team.  The new challenge has gone live today with sponsorship from Bugaboo, so head over to the blog for some inspiration from the DT Ladies

I was lucky enough to have Girlz - Wiggle the Bait for my project with a fantastic sentiment.  Over here in Blighty we call food 'Bait' (among other things) so I've made a Bait bag.

This gorgeous lady has lots of 'Bait' to wiggle lol

I've coloured her with spectrum noirs, cut her out with a Tonic die, used papers, ribbon, a button and some gems to fancy it up.

I'd like to enter the following:
